Disney World July 2009

This is our trip to Disney World in July of 2009. Esther, Edward and I went down to Orlando for five days. The trip was ok. I got a lot of good photos while down there. But Esther and I were worn out from our early flights and busy weekend leading into the trip. In the future, if possible, I will not go on flights any earlier than 10 A.M.

Anyway, the trip was fun at times. It was great to travel with Esther. And we all really enjoyed Epcot's World Showcase. So we had fun.

We also had some adventures. Getting to and from Disney World was a learning experience. The hotel we were staying at had free shuttling to and from Disney but at really weird times and only a couple times in a day. We missed a shuttle one of the days because of some bad information giving to us. However, it did work out because there was still one more shuttle coming that night. While Esther and I tried to look at this as an adventure, we both found this to be very stressful. Next time I will either rent a car or stay at a Disney hotel that is closer and offers frequent transportation.

I also learned that it is a good thing that it rains just about everyday down in Orlando. It gets really hot. But at the hottest part of the day is when the rain comes and cools you down. So the rain is a total blessing.

Edward was the one who really enjoyed the trip the most. He still talks about Disney World and meeting Mickey Mouse. He wants to go back. I told him he has to bring daddy next time. Disney World is a family trip type of vacation.

Anyway, over all good trip. Hope to go back with John and Edward someday. :)

Later!

Edward's First Movie Theater Movie

Edward got to go to his first movie theater movie. We went to see the movie Disney Pixar's "UP" in 3-D. It was a fun experience. Edward was not sure about the dark movie room and did not like the commercials. But after about half an hour he got into the movie and really seemed to enjoy it.

Main story line:
Movie starts when Carl Fredricksen is a boy. His boyhood hero is adventurer named Charles Muntz. Carl meets a girl named Ellie. Both love adventure. They grow and get married. Both have a dream of going to South America on an adventure. Well as much as they try, life keeps them where they are and time goes by. Many years later Ellie passes away. Carl, having promised her that he would go to South America, wants to fullfill his promise. So on the day he is to go into a nursing home, he takes action. With a whole lot of balloons tied to his fireplace his house lifts off the ground and he starts off on his adventure. All is going as he planned... until several feet in the air someone knocks on his front door. A young wilderness explorer named Russell has accidentally stode away on Mr. Fredricksen's flying house. Well one thing leads to another and the two of them end up in South America. Things are not going according to Carl Fredricksen's plan. They meet an unusual bird and a talking dog. As Carl reluctantly gets to know each of his new friends, he is faced with a choice - fullfill his wife's dream or help his new friends from a dangerous villian. Needless to say, Carl Fredricksen makes the right choice and experiences an amazing adventure along the way.

I thought the movie was pretty good. So far I have enjoyed the Disney Pixar films. Edward calls this movie the balloon movie. We both really like the dog named Dug. :) It was fun getting to know what dogs are thinking and would say. "Squirrel!" It is a cute movie.

Dancing at Daycare

"Everybody Dance Now"

One afternoon just before nap, we were watching the movie "Evan Almighty." The kids love the animals in the movie, but their favorite part of the movie was the music during the credits. I let them dance around before nap. They had a blast!

The Outside of our House

These pictures were taken the summer of 2008. Our house is definately a work in progress. But this is the place we call home. It has long been John's dream and desire to build a house. For me, I just want a finished house to live in. So this is a huge overcoming for me. Everyday is like being on a camping trip and roughing it out. But little by little the house is coming together. Maybe someday this will be a home.
